Yesterday afternoon I visited the first Breakdown Press Safari Comics Festival.
While making this sketch of "Boy Crazy Boy" comics creator Sina Sparrow I was surprised to hear the DJ playing "TV On In Bed" by futurist punks The Tronics.
I was surprised because:
1, I've never heard The Tronics played out by a DJ, and...
2, many years ago I played in a later incarnation of this group then know as The Zarjaz.
The DJ explained that it seemed to him like an appropriate choice for an indie comics event,
One of my first self published comix "Technotribe" starred, Tronics lead singer/song writer,
Zarjaz Baby in a tragic love story.
I also produced a set of comic style illustrations depicting several Tronics/Zarjaz songs.
