You probably know him best as one of the most lauded writers in the field but Alan Moore is also a talented underground cartoonist.

One of his most famous works as an illustrator, working under the pseudonym 'Curt Vile,'was "The Stars My Degradation" a weekly strip which ran in Sounds music paper in the early 80ies & scripted by Moore's pal Steve Moore (no relation), working under the pseudonym 'Pedro Henry'.
At a 2000ad signing session (probably this one from 1983) I was lucky enough to get Moore to sign this 4 page special, and even have him to sketch Axel Pressbutton for me on a blank playing card he was surprised that anyone would want him to do a sketch but graciously obliged

Extra bonus:
Another example of how Alan Moore's work was part of the UK underground scene is this bootlegged illustration (by Alan Davis) from the Moore penned 2000ad strip D.R & Quinch which was reappropriated for this anarcho-feminist issue of Class War.
