Battle Of The Eyes "Corpsemeat 2"

The original Corpsemeat Comix was a b/w photocopied zine produced by Savage Pencil, under the 'Sexy Swastika' banner in 1983 (reprinted 1991).

It's follow up "Corpsemeat 2" is something of an un-holy grail amongst underground comix collectors. For a start there are 2 distinct versions of Corpsemeat 2 the A4 ish b/w version produced by Long Gone John's Sympathetic Press and a full colour screen printed version printed in France by L'A.P.A.A.R.

Savage Pencil X Stussy

One of the highlights for me at Savage Pencil's 'Freek Meet' opening, at Into You Tattoo, was the chance to finally get hold of one of these awesome, and long sold out, t- shirts.

Back in the summer of 2009 Savage Pencil teamed up with Stussy to create a couple of designs.

Stussy have a long tradition of collaboration with artists but with "Super Fly" Savage Pencil decided to push the envelope...

Paint Is... Battle Of The Eyes.

I'm a massive fan of Savage Pencil & Chris Long's "Battle Of The Eyes" art group.

Since the mid 80ies (when their NYAK NYAK comic was given away free with Jim Thirlwell's awesome Wiseblood "Motorslug"12") I've been obsessed with collecting their work.

In recent years the duo have ressurected themselves as an expressionistic live art phenomenon and I've had the honour to watch and sketch them during several live painting events, paint a portrait of Savage Pencil and even had a cameo in one of their films, 'What We Do' by Mario Cavalli, (see below).
